Designing m-commerce applications

We are at the beginning of an era where the ability to access the internet on a mobile phone is becoming de rigueur and the mobile phone is fast becoming a ’universal’ tool, capable of carrying out many tasks, which have previously only been available on a PC or PDA. At the moment however, European users are not using the new services available on their mobile devices and are complaining that they find them difficult to access and use [5]. It is widely acknowledged that mobile companies need users to use mobile data services for information retrieval, bookings, banking, and networked gaming. It is vital then that mobile telecommunications companies react to this problem in order to ensure their future survival in the market place. This position paper describes the initial phase of a new project atftw. and how we tried to involve users.
